It was no secret that Blaine was quick to tear up whenever Sebastian went on his rare romantic speeches where he laid out all his deepest love for Blaine on the table, finally just letting his words lead him instead of thinking too much. Maybe it was because it didn’t happen often, so it hit Blaine harder when it did happen. Or maybe Blaine was just so adorably sensitive in that way; Sebastian thought it was both. One thing he knew for sure though was that being here in Paris brought out a romantic side of Sebastian that didn’t show much on a regular day. Listening to Blaine speak in a teary eyed whisper left Sebastian completely and fully listening with a sweet smile. Sebastian squeezes his hand and reaches his other hand across the small distance between them to wipe one single tear he saw glimmering in the light under Blaine’s eye. Voice comes out soft and caring, all so compassionate. ❝Hey, I have to play it unfair sometimes.❞ he chuckles lightly.
❝The number one thing I’ve always wanted to be is supportive, Blaine. And it comes to me pretty easily when you are constantly and always the best man I know. Every choice you make, it’s perfect. You’ve completely changed my view of the world too…And of love…And friendship. It’s kind of like… I was living in shades of black and white, and when I saw you walk through that door into the Warblers room, you were the first thing I finally saw in color. As I got closer to you, the sky became blue and the trees became green… and in this very moment right now I think I finally see everything in color.❞ he pauses, feeling himself getting drastically more emotional too. It had to be done now. The moment was just right. Sebastian couldn’t wait any longer, it was impossible. ❝I have something to show you.❞ he says excitedly, getting out of his chair and standing above Blaine to hold a hand out. ❝Let me take you there.❞ Everything had his heart beating out of his chest. How he could feel the ring box in his pocket, how he knew the tower was right outside of this restaurant. How he knew that this was the biggest moment of his life yet and he wouldn’t change a thing for the world. Because together? The world was theirs.
The smile that graced Sebastian’s mouth never failed to take his breath away. That look made him feel like there was nothing that existed in the world. In any mood he was in–Sebastian could give him with that smile and he would instantly stop, blink, stumble into the same stupefied stare he had sitting across the table from this strange, mind boggling boy he happened upon at Dalton. What he once thought was lucky chance that their lives intertwined in the place where Blaine always the most at home was different the minute he let it be because Sebastian was always there. Waiting for him to come around. Chance had nothing to do with them. Fate did. Dalton–Blaine’s home–gave him his true place to belong forever. Now when he saw that expression? He fell in love with Sebastian over and over again. A dizzying, head spinning sort of love that felt like the first day he opened up his eyes and truly let himself see who was standing in front of him and the life–and love–Sebastian had to offer. Sebastian’s support was unending. Through darkness and doubt, triumph and a heart so light Blaine could soar through the clouds in happiness–Sebastian was his constant. An unending thread weaved into the fabric of who he was and every milestone–good or bad–only tugged them closer. It was so hard–at times–for Blaine to see himself the way Sebastian painted him. He was speechless– listening to how he brought Sebastian’s world into color. –Oh my God..– Sebastian had no idea he took the colors in Blaine’s world and made them brighter, more vibrant. Alive when they all began to fade. “Sebastian..,” Blaine stole his boyfriend’s hand and pressed a kiss to his fingertips tasting the salt of his own tears. “I–,” but Sebastian stood up and they were leaving. Blaine had to remind his knees how to work and took the offered hand so he could pull himself up. Curiosity twinkled in reddened eyes and he nodded feeling his heart race like Sebastian’s pulse drummed through his hand and his own heart sped up to match his. “I’d follow you anywhere. You know?” And that’s what he did. Right after a kiss to Sebastian’s cheek and a whispered I love you before they moved an inch.
