“Okay, so the big question is, are we in a Thai, Chinese, or Pizza mood? Or I’m sure Breadstix’s delivers too, but i’m not 100% I’m in the mood for Italian tonight,” Dave listed, putting Blaine on speaker so that he could start to pull up the numbers of their favorite take-out places. Dave flushed, wondering if maybe suggesting a fort was a bad idea. However, that was soon gone and he was relieved that his suggestion hadn’t actually been as stupid as he thought it might be. “I might have yes. I mean I haven’t really done a fort in awhile, but I think between the couches and chairs and all the blankets in the house we could make it work. Drag the tv inside? I think I might have an extension chord long enough for that. I’ll look for that when we get off the phone. And pizza it is.” he paused, his imagination now running wild. There were endless possibilities for what they could do in the fort together. Dave felt like he knew Blaine was going to say, however, he wasn’t going to question Blaine’s choice of words. “And I adore the fact that you’re so willing to do this with me.”
“Pizza always works. If you’re not in the mood for it though? Chinese and me? You can never go wrong,” he grinned into the rearview mirror before making the turn onto Dave’s street. “Surprise me. Either way? I’m fine with whatever. Dave? Better hurry up and make that call. Or can you web order? Because I’m about to your place.” They could find the extension chord together for all Blaine cared. What he wanted most was to spend time with Dave. The rest of their plans were all one incredibly heartwarming treat after another. Sighing in relief when Dave seemed to sense what he was about to say but let it slide when he went a different route–Blaine laughed happily. “More than willing. I’m so excited I think my foot forgot to let up on the gas.” Chewing on the edge of his tongue as he mulled over what he almost said before he was ‘let off the hook’–he hesitated and then shook the idea out of his mind. Which was a terrible way of putting it because Dave never put him on a hook. He did a great enough job putting himself on one more times than not though. Another time. Who tells someone something that means that much over the phone though? Because–lately–he was coming to realize–well–another time. “See you in ten minutes. You’re sure you don’t need me to get anything?”
