Curiously watching her from across the courtyard, it was easy to see the girl had something on her mind.  He knew, first hand twice, what it felt like to be the new kid coming to school in the middle of the year.  The first time was the worst.  At least for a few days until the welcoming committee at Dalton introduced him to enough students that he lost that knot in his stomach feeling.  McKinley didn’t have anything like that by a long shot.  Lucky for him, he had Kurt and was familiar with a lot of the glee kids when he came here.  The transition for him was more mental and a few personality conflicts that surfaced within a week or two.  But doing it alone?  That had to be awful.

“Hi..  I’m Blaine.” A brown, leather satchel came to rest on the concrete next to her spot on the stairs overlooking the courtyard below.  Blaine smiled politely before taking a seat.  Slinging his legs over the ledge, he rested his forearms on the railing that kept them from toppling over and gave the students below a glance.  Then his full attention was back on her.  His voice was purposefully soft, as if he was worried he might be intruding.  “I saw you in Biology.  Are they making you introduce yourself to every class?  They asked me to do that when I first came here,” he faked a shudder, “Don’t they realize by the end of the day, it’s just more than a little weird?”
