a frustrated huff passed from her lips, arms crossing over her chest. who even CARED about proving their talent ? sugar would have much rather won than prove anything. ❛ i have about 10% confidence in us winning without a little bribage – we sort of suck. i mean, i can’t even sing. ❜ she perked up as he continued, a small smile graving her features. ❛ well in that case – it’s time to start doing our research !! we need to find out who the judges will be, and what they can be bribed with, so i can tell daddy exactly what i need. ❜

Sugar’s confidence in their abilities might be lacking.  However.  Blaine was holding out hope that his confidence in his teammates might make up for her serious lack of any.  Even if in his opinion they should have started rehearsing and planning months ago was enough to give him more sleepless nights than he’d admit to.  Hopefully, he was right.  The alternative was far too crushing to think about.

“No!  No.  First.  We practice more.  Then, if we are still having trouble?  You and I can talk about,” he made air quotes around the words, “other plans.”  Trying to goad her into agreeing with him, Blaine lifted his brows, pressed his lips together and hummed. “I’d rather try then than risk getting disqualified.  Wouldn’t you?  We could..work together?”  Yeah.  He offered that.  Oh God.  What just came out of his mouth?
