susie.

Her eyes became hard as  s t e e l  as she glances over at the other. She could feel the air turn  c o l d e r  around her as her withering gaze found theirs and her fists  c l e n c h e d  at her sides with the vice grip that turns her knuckles the  p u r e s t  of white.

; ; ; “ Nothing is OKAY, so stop telling me that. Nothing will EVER be okay… again. “ she  b r e a k s  off, her voice breaking at the end and her gaze, though still  h a r d, softening with the weight of the tears in her eyes.

Blaine understood the girl’s frustration, hurt and most of all her ANGER.  Because he experienced every single twist and stomach wrenching, drop-you-to-your-knees feeling she is going through.  And, sometimes, he still does.  Telling her that wouldn’t help her.  It’d only make things worse knowing that as time passes the ache might dim, dull, and fade.  Even turn to happiness and delight but there are still storms to weather that build into hurricanes you can only stare into the eye of when you realize how unhelpful you are to yourself or anyone else.

To be able to actually affect someone standing in front of him.  That can listen and let you have hope knowing you made them smile.  That’s what gets him through his dark.  Maybe he could help her get through hers?  “I know how it feels to hurt.  I know how it feels to be so frustrated that you feel it burning inside your veins. But,” his fingertips lifted from the water in the birdbath he’d been playing with to wiggle the water droplets off.  “You’re not alone now.  You have me.  I don’t know how much that means to you but I’m not leaving you.  Okay?”

If you voted for Trump tonight, make sure to explain to your gay, trans, female, black, Latina/o, and Muslim friends why they don’t matter to you.

// I was trying not to get political tonight but..I should have known it was unavoidable.  Seeing as how my family has been hugely political..I should have known better.  But this hit me so hard. Literally.  If you voted for Trump…and you and I write together/talk/consider one another friends? I want you to come into my inbox (I turned anons off, btw) and tell me why me and so many people I love or even strangers do not matter to you. Seriously.  I need to know.

Hunter was just about ready to collapse. He had no idea how Blaine would retaliate after he pushed him. All he knew was that he COULDN’T back down now. From a young age, he had a moral code of being all in or all out, && if he was being kicked out, well then he’d leave with a bang. It was decided the moment he lost his temper. This argument was going to be to be fought with fists, mostly because he didn’t have nearly enough emotional strength to talk it out. Hearing Blaine try to defend himself was pure agony for the newly ex captain. Irritatingly enough, the way he denied it all wasn’t even the worst part. The thing that tore Hunter to pieces was that he wanted to believe it. He wanted so badly to trust in his new friend, but trust wasn’t something he was use to giving out — especially if he had a reason to withhold it. Experiencing pain && suffering left you one of two ways. Stronger, or colder. It was clear in the two of them, who picked which route. The least Hunter could do to excuse his behavior was to trust that he had good reason to be angry. When in reality, he just thought he did. That was one he’d pay for down the line. Now he was in too deep to make up && move on. They wanted a terrible leader? A raging tyrant with no respect for anyone? Fine. That was exactly what they would get. Damn it, why did Blaine have to make that state of mind so hard to stomach? He really was making him WEAK.

More than anything he wanted to shout back that no, he didn’t care. He couldn’t give a rats ass about them if he wanted to. Only he couldn’t, because over time Hunter came to realize those were just dirty little lies. && Something about looking into those focused, caring eyes made it SO damn hard to lie! Watching Blaine stumble caused an instant reaction, his body nearly reaching out for him to take back what he had done. As usual, it was too late. The fury was so clear in his eyes, but Blaine still managed to find serenity in his tone. How the HELL did he do it? If the situation were different, Hunter would be seeking guidance from a voice of reason so controlled. That was something he was heavily LACKING at this point in his life. Instead of speaking up && just shouting I DO, the taller male swallowed the lump in his throat. The nerves that pushed him to such extremes were falling apart before his eyes, && without considering the outcome he moved forward again. There was bound to be a shield to his attack, but this time he wasn’t coming forward with fists. Instead, he took hold of Blaine’s wrists ( clearly not as rough as he could of been ). The tug was just enough to bring them closer together. Heavy breaths fell from Hunter’s trembling lips as he examined the face only inches from his own. The moment was fleeting, because he quickly leaned in for a desperate kiss. It was unlike any other instinct he’d felt before. Having been no stranger to lust, or violence, the turn of events shouldn’t of shocked him as much as it did. It was barely three seconds before he realized the mistake of it all. His weakness was showing again. It wasn’t that he was falling victim to lust through hatred, but instead through an extremely opposite feeling. Not yet love, but nothing close to hate. It was simply, new. Fuck— was the only word he could get out as he drew back, trying to make the first step before getting pushed away. Always better to leave than to be rejected, right? With that thought in mind he continued backing away, prepared to leave before things got any WORSE.

Blaine felt his insides twist and cringe when Hunter came forward again.  Pleading eyes from a boy who was so desperate to have his friend believe that he would never purposefully hurt him the way Hunter thought he had turned wary and hesitant.  Pupils swallowed up most of their hazel shades as he readied himself for whatever was to come.  He didn’t want this to turn into a fight.  Not a single part of him wanted to hurt Hunter.  Not in the way he was being blamed for and most certainly not physically.  A dozen ways to put Hunter down and restrain him til he calmed himself flew through Blaine’s mind as every step Hunter took brought him closer.  Heels steadied themselves against the floor, muscles tensed and readied for the inevitable battle for control that Blaine trained to win just as much as Hunter had in his military school.  This would be a moment where what happened between them would define how they left this room.  And Blaine was determined that no matter what shape it was?  Bruises wouldn’t be involved. “Please,” he heard himself whisper out in a voice that sounded beyond breathless and so much smaller than he wanted.  Don’t do this was cut short when his wrists were grabbed.  Lips parted and–.

Everything that he was prepared for came crashing down in flames as a mouth collided with his. The world never went black for Blaine.  Who stood there wide eyed through the whole thing, arms going slack from the vice grip Hunter hands wrapped around his wrists.  Seconds went by and Blaine only just caught up to this happening and it was over.  His mouth tingled.  Hunter’s taste lingered on his lips and spread over his tongue.  Did he really kiss him back without realizing it?  Or was he so caught off guard that he stood there frozen?  How could he not remember when it happened just now?  Hunter was allowed to move freely.  No burdens put on his retreat from a body that couldn’t move an inch.  Shock was written all over the Warbler’s face.  “Why did you do that,” he listened to himself feeling as if it was a voice he heard that didn’t belong to him.  “Why did you–Hunter?”  His left hand moved to cover his right wrist where a dull ache began to throb now that confusion was coaxing the adrenaline caused by their argument and the abrupt explosion caused by it to wear off.  Hunter made it perfectly clear from day one that he had no interest in guys.  Their friendship ran deep but not once did they cross a line that would give Blaine a reason to wonder otherwise.  Why this?  Why now?  Why did he want to step forward and make sure Hunter was okay?  The last question was easy.  Because he cared. The other two questions were in an unending scream inside his skull.  Seeing how shocked or as it terrified Hunter looked?  The kiss was an accident. An alternative to a punch that Blaine was certain up until their lips met was heading right at him.  So far?  Blaine wasn’t sure which one he preferred considering what might happen when Hunter had time to let it sink in what he just did.

“Don’t interrupt me when I’m thinking. I will not hesitate to push you down the stairs if you so much as utter another word.”

Um..  Wow.  Blaine heard the stories about Sue from Kurt and they’d encountered one another once in person–and she was odd.  But?  The tales always seemed far too outlandish to be true. However.  Being threatened to be pushed down the stairs only two days into his transfer here made him question just how outlandish they truly were.  He opened his mouth like he was going to say something–then caught himself and shut it.  Dragging in a sharp breath through clenched teeth–the former Warbler tip toed to her desk and placed an envelope with her name written on it by her elbow then turned to go before he learned what the edge of a step or two tasted like.

isaac.

A soft laugh left Isaac’s lips as he moved his hands to cover his mouth. He thought it was adorable. It was such a cheesy date proposal and he loved it. An enthusiastic nod prefaced his speech, “Of course I’d want to do that. That’s a thousand times than coffee and you must know just how to capture my heart…” He shook his head. Autumn always had been his favourite time of the year. It wasn’t too cold and he had an excuse to wear his sweaters and scarves. “Honestly, it’s like you can read me like a book or something.” He rested a hand on top of Blaine’s as he nodded again. “Your idea is perfect.”

Fall was, and always would be, Blaine’s favorite season.  Comfy sweaters, the smell of leaves in the air, warm blankets to cuddle under.  Colors that took your breath away.  And–well everything–about Fall was amazing.  Now–he had someone to spend at least one of his favorite things to do during it with.  Not just someone.  Isaac.  Capture his heart?  "Well, if I’m being honest? Great!  Because maybe that’s what I’m trying to do,” even though the edge of his lip was stuck between his teeth–Blaine managed another soft smile down at the hand now covering his.  The touch gave him enough courage to let his fingertips become more of a solid presence where they sat.  His thumb curved up to run a small circle against the edge of Isaac’s hand.  Squinting thoughtfully–hazel eyes read across Isaac’s.  “The idea’s only as perfect as the person that inspired it.  So?  Thanks for being that.”

isaac.

Isaac shrugged, his shoulders all the way up so that they touched his ears. This ‘idea’ seemed intriguing and he really wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to be with Blaine, if he was being quite honest. He nodded almost too enthusiastically. “Yeah, I’d love that.” He moved to rest his hand on Blaine’s shoulders. “I don’t what it is, but it sounds fantastic.” He nodded again just to make sure he was clear. The muscles in his face were in pain for smiling so much, but he didn’t mind it. It was actually nice to be so happy for once.

Warmth that stemmed from Isaac’s touch against his shoulder spread in a slow, wonderful feeling wave across his back.  Blaine leaned into it–smiling down at his lap so wide that his teeth were showing.  “I–uh–Better than coffee that you can have any day and the Lima Bean isn’t anything special for a first date.” He licked his lips and gently patted Isaac’s knee in thought.  His hand stayed there, though.  Fingertips light as a feather where they touched.  “You know that there’s a pumpkin patch that’s open pretty late. They have this amazing cider stand.  Seriously.  he stuff can’t be beat. Anywhere.  I was thinking we drop by.  Maybe grab something that isn’t just coffee.  We could walk around?  Check out their cheesy little corn maze.  I don’t know,” dark brows twitched up, “Just an idea..”
