      “I understand about the dark places your mind can take you, you know?”  Blaine hooked one leg and then the other over the edge of the staircase they were sitting at the top of, arms resting crossed together one the bottom rung of the railing.  Staring over the tops of his shoes down at the courtyard below, he shrugged and wiggled one shoe out to dangle from the tips of his toes.
