In a short period of time, hugging Blaine had been one of his favorite past times. It was weird how easy things had become with the two of them and how much it just felt ….right. He was eager to progress his relationship, go to all the next levels, see where they might be later on. Who knew, maybe Blaine was the one? (Okay, so talking and thinking about that was probably not his brightest idea, after all, they hadn’t been dating THAT long.) Dave tilted his head as he felt Blaine’s palm against his cheek. The hand felt warm, not like it was burning against his skin, but like he was sending comforting waves over to him. “I’m amazing because you gave me a chance. You gave me a chance to prove I wasn’t the guy I used to be, and you’re letting me be in this relationship with you,” he murmured, unable to take a compliment directly like usual. “I’m more than ready to take this step, I mean…I’m more then ready to take all the step with you,” the last part probably should have been left out, but oh well, there wasn’t any changing that. “Well, we do need to get on the road soon, but I wouldn’t mind you know, sitting here with you?”
Blaine watched with a soft eyes gleaming with adoration as Dave took the compliment as well as he did any other one he tried to give him. With a coyness that brushed it off to the side but not in a rude way. In the way someone who doesn’t see themselves as the person you are telling them you are seeing them as often does. A small squint pinched his eyelids together. Was that how it looked like when he did it himself? God, they were both in the same bucket. No matter how long it took until the day came that Dave would simply smile and accept that’s how Blaine saw him? Giving the man the patience Dave gave him to even try to go as far as they’ve come was the very least he could do. “I knew you weren’t that guy, you know? It just took you some time to realize it. But that was a long time ago. Look where we are now?” Another gentle caress over Dave’s cheek was finished up with a light poke to his nose that made Blaine laugh at the childishness of his own gesture and he squirmed back over into the passenger seat to sit like a normal person. “I know we could sit in my driveway all day but I think we can put a to be continued on the snuggling until we get to the hotel? Or–you know–stop for lunch. Otherwise–we’re never going to get there.” He lifted his glass and tipped it towards Dave. “One last toast to where we’re heading and how much I can’t wait to get there.”
