( mssg » blaine | sent ) Yeah. They heard us for sure. I mean, nice to meet you, yeah we’re the loud couple that has a VERY healthy sex life. It was very hard to keep a straight face, I kind of wanted to fade away right then and there tbh.
( mssg » blaine | sent ) Oh yeah, how’s that going? When is that happening? I mean I’d love to see it but I know that I might be working or something, so I can always try to come watch?
( mssg » blaine | sent ) Blaine? They’ll be amazing. You know why? Because they have this amazing coach. You might have heard of him, his name is Blaine Anderson?

( mssg » dave | sent )  Maybe we should invest in some means of soundproofing the bedroom?  It’s not like I want them privy to every sexual encounter we have.  Or what gets said during it.
( mssg » dave | sent )  You’re more than welcome to come watch!  I’d love you here.  It’ll be two Fridays from now.  At 7:30.  I’ve got a front row seat with your name on it if you can make it.
( mssg » dave | sent )  Have I told you how sweet you are lately?  Because you always say the perfect thing at the perfect time.  Thank you.  I guess I’m most nervous about letting them down.  I can’t let that happen.  You know?

“Okay, so the big question is, are we in a Thai, Chinese, or Pizza mood? Or I’m sure Breadstix’s delivers too, but i’m not 100% I’m in the mood for Italian tonight,” Dave listed, putting Blaine on speaker so that he could start to pull up the numbers of their favorite take-out places. Dave flushed, wondering if maybe suggesting a fort was a bad idea. However, that was soon gone and he was relieved that his suggestion hadn’t actually been as stupid as he thought it might be. “I might have yes. I mean I haven’t really done a fort in awhile, but I think between the couches and chairs and all the blankets in the house we could make it work. Drag the tv inside? I think I might have an extension chord long enough for that. I’ll look for that when we get off the phone. And pizza it is.” he paused, his imagination now running wild. There were endless possibilities for what they could do in the fort together. Dave felt like he knew Blaine was going to say, however, he wasn’t going to question Blaine’s choice of words. “And I adore the fact that you’re so willing to do this with me.”

“Pizza always works.  If you’re not in the mood for it though?  Chinese and me?  You can never go wrong,” he grinned into the rearview mirror before making the turn onto Dave’s street. “Surprise me.  Either way?  I’m fine with whatever.  Dave?  Better hurry up and make that call. Or can you web order?  Because I’m about to your place.”  They could find the extension chord together for all Blaine cared.  What he wanted most was to spend time with Dave.  The rest of their plans were all one incredibly heartwarming treat after another.  Sighing in relief when Dave seemed to sense what he was about to say but let it slide when he went a different route–Blaine laughed happily.  “More than willing.  I’m so excited I think my foot forgot to let up on the gas.”  Chewing on the edge of his tongue as he mulled over what he almost said before he was ‘let off the hook’–he hesitated and then shook the idea out of his mind. Which was a terrible way of putting it because Dave never put him on a hook.  He did a great enough job putting himself on one more times than not though.  Another time.  Who tells someone something that means that much over the phone though? Because–lately–he was coming to realize–well–another time.  “See you in ten minutes.  You’re sure you don’t need me to get anything?”

( mssg » blaine | sent ) This and that??? For a bit it was about how their dog woke them up this morning. They also mentioned they heard us last night so you know…Guess it would be kinda valid?
( mssg » blaine | sent ) Its okay. Glad you didn’t have to.
( mssg » blaine | sent )  Good plan 😛
( mssg » blaine | sent ) We can get one together, i’m pretty sure I have cavaties too from everything….I’m doing okay, I mean, I’m trapped doing school work but it’s almost all over and then I’ll be able to see you tonight?

( mssg » dave | sent ) Oh God!  Oh no!  They heard us?  Okay that’s not embarrassing at all!  What a great way to introduce ourselves.  Ha!  We’re the sex starved couple that moved upstairs.  Great to make your acquaintance.  You kept a straight face after that?  I’m impressed, Dave.
( mssg » dave | sent ) I’ll be home as soon as the Warblers settle on their song choices for the showcase I scheduled.

To be honest, I know it’s at Dalton and they are loved here but I think I’m more nervous than they are.  No idea why.  I just am.

[text //] Word of advice, avoid the neighbors downstairs. Not sure what their problem is, but they literally just stood there complaining to me for half an hour.
[text //] Literally the first time I’ve ever talked to them.
[text //] ALL I SAID WAS HI.
[text //] Thought you should know.
[text //] Anyways, hello, have I told you how much I adore you today? No? Okay well let me tell you, Its more than infinity and way past beyond.

( mssg » dave | sent ) Complaining to you about what?  I mean.  Do they have any valid points?  That’s a long time to ramble on about being miserable.  Wow.
( mssg » dave | sent ) Sorry you had to sit through that.
( mssg » dave | sent ) Thank you for the warning.  I’ll be sure to avoid them!
( mssg » dave | sent ) Have I told you how sweet you are?  More than infinity and way past beyond.  I’m going to need a teeth cleaning before I get cavities.  That’s how sweet.
( mssg » dave | sent ) How are you?  What are you doing?

In a short period of time, hugging Blaine had been one of his favorite past times. It was weird how easy things had become with the two of them and how much it just felt ….right. He was eager to progress his relationship, go to all the next levels, see where they might be later on. Who knew, maybe Blaine was the one? (Okay, so talking and thinking about that was probably not his brightest idea, after all, they hadn’t been dating THAT long.) Dave tilted his head as he felt Blaine’s palm against his cheek. The hand felt warm, not like it was burning against his skin, but like he was sending comforting waves over to him. “I’m amazing because you gave me a chance. You gave me a chance to prove I wasn’t the guy I used to be, and you’re letting me be in this relationship with you,” he murmured, unable to take a compliment directly like usual. “I’m more than ready to take this step, I mean…I’m more then ready to take all the step with you,” the last part probably should have been left out, but oh well, there wasn’t any changing that. “Well, we do need to get on the road soon, but I wouldn’t mind you know, sitting here with you?”

Blaine watched with a soft eyes gleaming with adoration as Dave took the compliment as well as he did any other one he tried to give him.  With a coyness that brushed it off to the side but not in a rude way.  In the way someone who doesn’t see themselves as the person you are telling them you are seeing them as often does.  A small squint pinched his eyelids together. Was that how it looked like when he did it himself?  God, they were both in the same bucket. No matter how long it took until the day came that Dave would simply smile and accept that’s how Blaine saw him? Giving the man the patience Dave gave him to even try to go as far as they’ve come was the very least he could do.  “I knew you weren’t that guy, you know?  It just took you some time to realize it.  But that was a long time ago.  Look where we are now?”  Another gentle caress over Dave’s cheek was finished up with a light poke to his nose that made Blaine laugh at the childishness of his own gesture and he squirmed back over into the passenger seat to sit like a normal person. “I know we could sit in my driveway all day but I think we can put a to be continued on the snuggling until we get to the hotel?  Or–you know–stop for lunch. Otherwise–we’re never going to get there.”  He lifted his glass and tipped it towards Dave. “One last toast to where we’re heading and how much I can’t wait to get there.”

( mssg » blaine | sent ) So when exactly was this again? How many days have you started out the day saying you do it?
( mssg » blaine | sent ) If you hadn’t kept it for so long I probably wouldn’t be as upset about this as I am? Like I’m a lot more pissed off now than I probably would have been.
( mssg » blaine | sent ) I’m not going to leave you. That’s the annoying part of this. I love you and that’s what is so frustrating. But I need time. Alone. As in I don’t want to see you for a bit so I don’t do or say something I’ll regret later.

( mssg » dave | sent ) Dave..
( mssg » dave | sent )

The night of Sue’s Invitational.  Every day since then.
( mssg » dave | sent ) I know.  I know I shouldn’t have kept it in.  You have every right to never want to see me again if that’s what you want.
( mssg » dave | sent ) I just want you to know I’ve been so sorry and I love you very much.  Being with you is where I want to be.
( mssg » dave | sent )

If it’s time you need?  I’ll give that to you.  Whatever it takes to fix this..

dave.

Dave thought a moment. “I could probably you know….try to take a compliment once and awhile, but we both know that I’m pretty terrible at it. In fact, i’m probably worse at it then you are, but for all future reference, you are important, very important, in fact you might actually be the most important, but don’t tell anyone I said that, they might get jealous,” he chuckled, leaning into the kisses. This was his favorite part, when they got this comfortable and this…touchy. He pulled away slightly, trying to think. “You know, I bet if I asked the people, I could probably get us in to see the apartment tomorrow if you were interested? I mean, I’m supposed to have everything though by this weekend so I mean, whenever is really the best. I mean I have whether you want to move in with me or not, but I prefer you moving in. Pretty sure we’ve really established that point by now though, don’t mind me. But tomorrow, I can get us in tomorrow if you want.”

Boom!  Like a racehorse out of the Kentucky Derby Starter Gate!  There Dave went!  Blaine sat on his lap with an amused expression pushing his eyebrows higher the longer Dave fell into rapid fire rambling.  It was adorable to watch him become so caught up in explaining things when he got so excited and jittery.  Blaine had to wonder if that’s how he looked whenever he did the same thing.  Though..he’d highly doubt he was as adorable as Dave.  Inching closer with a shift of his knees on either side of Dave’s thighs–Blaine loosely wrapped both arms around his boyfriend’s shoulders and moved his hands until he could lightly scratch back and forth over his back.  Not a peep was made as he let Dave work through what he had to say–rather gush out–and only when he was sure Dave was done did Blaine allow himself to crack an ear to ear grin. Laughing happily–Blaine leaned in until their noses and foreheads touched.  “I think,” his voice was a notch above a whisper, “I think that we should go tomorrow.  As excited as you are?  I’m not making you wait til the weekend.  Dave?  Do you know how good it feels to have you this ecstatic to move in with me?  It’s just–thank you.  Get the keys and let’s go steal a peek? Maybe we can shop for some things together once we see it together?  How’s that sound?”

( mssg » blaine | sent ) So you were going to just keep it quiet and tell me when the time ‘was right’ or what? Were you just going to not tell me or something? Do you think that would have been a better idea?
( mssg » blaine | sent ) Maybe. We can MAYBE talk. But start off with why. Not why you did it for now, but why you thought it’d be okay to hide it?

image

( mssg » dave | sent ) I was planning on telling you.  I kept starting out the day telling myself that I’d do it.  That today was the day.  Then we would have such a good one that I didn’t want to ruin it.
( mssg » dave | sent )

The problem is? All of our days are good days.  Eventually my excuse just..  I got petrified that I’d lose you and lost my nerve instead.
( mssg » dave | sent ) I don’t know why I thought hiding it was okay.  I know it’s not.
( mssg » dave | sent )

Dave, please, don’t leave?

Why relief was the first thing he felt when Blaine answered the phone, Dave wasn’t sure. Maybe it was the fact that Blaine made him feel happy- – relaxed. He smiled stupidly at licking his lips. “Thirty minutes? Guess I have to be patient then. I’m getting things set up. Thought about ordering something for us to eat? Have you eaten dinner yet? Did I ask that earlier? I’m not actually sure if I did, but I mean, I haven’t eaten and I figured we could eat Chinese delivery or I dunno, pizza, and like, my dad’s out for the night so I figure since we have the house to ourselves, we could um, maybe go back to you know, childhood. Like um, camp out in the living room or I dunno, we could build a fort.” He knew he was rambling. He usually got to this point fairly quickly when he was talking to Blaine.

“Food would be great,” Blaine smiled like a dork even though Dave wasn’t there to see.  It was Dave’s fault for making him get all goofy and smile at the window like it was a flesh and blood person there to speak with.  Dave made him happy and it was easy to be like this just by speaking with him over the phone.  How could you not appreciate a person who just suggested the idea of a forte?  You can’t.  Plain and simple.  Laughter rang out before Blaine was able to get it under control enough to actually ask, “Did you just suggest we build a fort?  Like–a blanket fort?  Because I am so down for that, Dave.  Minor request?  Let’s drag the television inside. We could camp out and watch movies.  Eat some pizza?  Tell a story or two?” He mused, gushing about the sweetness of the idea.  “Dave?  This is what I–,” he paused and it was long enough to notice he stopped himself and might’ve changed gears from what word he nearly used so he could jump to something safer.  “What I adore about you.  Ideas like this.  It sounds perfect and there’s no other way I’d rather spend tonight.”
