a   small   smile   tugs   at   chapped   lips ,   comforted  by   blaine’s   words .   singing   used   to   help   her   ESCAPE ,   to   share   that   now   with   the   glee   club   was   going   to   be   —   tough .   ❝   thank   you …   it’s   just   NERVES .   i   know   i   can   do   it   but ,   …   what   if   they   don’t   like   me ?

Without letting go, Blaine walked backwards with that smile growing wider by the step.  Soft, round eyes watched her closely as he guided them backstage.  Even he still had his moments of doubt..  But!  He had faith in her and he was going to do everything in his power to make sure she knew that.  More than knew it.  Felt it.  “Let’s get some water.  We can practice a bit more?” A deflated sigh was a way of him trying to show her how her last point was so, so impossible. His thoughtful pout was erased by that broad, confident perkiness immediately after. “Eye rolls from Rachel aside.  Don’t worry that’s just a thing she does..  They’re going to love you.  I promise.”

“Everyone has a little bit of stage fright when they first start.  But?  You’re going to be amazing.. Once you’re out there and everything starts?  The fear fades away and it’s the best feeling in the world.”  Blaine gently took her hand and gave it a soft, comforting squeeze.  An encouraging smile followed.  “I promise.  You’ve worked so hard for this..  Now, you get to enjoy it.”
