Polishing Up For 2k19

WHAT’S UP:

Hey you lovely cats!  I’m going to be starting 2k19 super fresh on this blog.  I won’t be remaking or deleting this blog but I’m gonna be going semi-private and narrowing things down.  Like people I follow, plots I get involved in, etc.  Just to keep some control in the chaos and catch up / stay caught up with the people I’ve been and will be writing with! 

KEEPING THREADS:

I’ll be continuing threads!  If you want to keep all the ones we got, all I ask is that you give this post a like or shoot me a message on discord and we’re golden.  If we have multiple threads, I’d like to keep them all but if you want to drop any?  Message me on discord or here and let me know!  No pressure whatsoever!  I just need to know what to archive on my thread tracker!

R.I.P Stan Lee – I Loved You In Mallrats!

// I wanted to take a minute and remember Stan Lee.  I can never claim to be an ultimate Stan Lee fan in the way so many others are.  I appreciate his imagination and how much talent he had.  What he brought to writing, comics, movies and inspiration in the hearts of millions of fans worldwide is a phenomenon that is a once in a lifetime kind of ordeal and that, alone, deserves respect.  Creating magic, changing people’s lives?  It’s a writer’s dream and one I’ve had since I was a kid.  I enjoyed his stories and appreciated his work.

But what I’d love to share the most?  Is my story of when I met this man and how hilarious and funny and kind he was.  So, give me a few minutes and if you read this?  Then I hope you get a laugh out of it.  Because I can’t help see his laugh and hear it just thinking back to that day.

I had the chance to meet Stan at E3.  I’d won entry through my company and took a co-worker with me who I thought deserved to go because he was a great guy.  We stood in line to meet Stan and looking around?  I was the only woman in that line as far I could see.  I watched guy after guy go up, get an autograph, say a couple words and go.  I had no idea what I was going to say to this man.  He was a living legend and I’m like…thanks doesn’t seem to cover it.

Me?  A simple thanks?  I thought!  On my turn, I went up and he completely threw me off guard.  Stan looked up, dropped his jaw and went..  “Wow!  A girl?!”  Jokingly grinning the whole time.  And I lost it.  I was laughing and he chuckled and I grinned back and threw my voice totally derp style and went “Yeah but like I totally loved you in Mallrats!”  Stan Lee instantly burst out laughing.  “That’s the best greeting I’ve ever had!”  He was beaming.

Then Stan proceeded to go total fanboy over Kevin Smith.  His face lit up in the way every fan’s lights up when they talk about who they stan.  “Oh, I loved being in that movie!  I love Kevin!  He’s the best!”  Stan went on and on about how talented Kevin was, how funny he was, how he loved every time they worked together.  I could feel the eyes of fanboys burning holes in the back of my head but I didn’t care.  I was watching Stan Lee go nuts about Kevin Smith and it was awesome.  We wrapped up the conversation with him thanking me for coming and signed a poster I gave to another friend who adores him and couldn’t make it.  Because, honestly, he deserved it more than me.  I had an awesome moment that is better than any autograph.  I remember that day so fondly.  Because “Wow!  A girl!” opened up a whole can of Kevin Smith’s Awesome given to me by the man Kevin Smith worships.  I wish I had the chance to share that story with Kevin.  Especially now.  Maybe someday.

Anyway!  That’s my Stan Lee story.  I hope you got a smile if you’re a fan of his.  Or even if you aren’t.  Also, go watch some Mallrats and tip your hat off to one of the men Stan Lee stanned.  I promise you’re missing out if you haven’t.

Wanna re-write our story? No problem!

Role-playing can become quite tedious at times. You have all the inspiration in the beginning & suddenly the muses have an established relationship and all we write is the same, or nearly the same stuff over and over. I don’t mind. But others might lose muse over it. They crave variety. If you ever want to just drop an already existing relationship, re-write a period or an entire story of our muses’ lives, feel that it would help your creativity— I’M OKAY WITH IT!

And if we wrote 5 different scenarios that were all born from 1 mutual plot we started a year ago- It’s different experiences. And that allows our muses to experience all kinds of emotions and grow. Maybe one story ended badly and it left you without any ambition to continue and yet you liked the general storyline but didn’t foretell it might end that bad. NO PROBLEM! We will simply re-write it. I am a-okay with it. We don’t have to stick to lame stories, threads that bore us…

…let’s re-write our story!

// There’s a post going around on my dash from a lot of my partners about post length.  It’s always been something I’ve been self conscious about.  Whether I write too much or too little. I’ve always made it clear to everyone who writes with me that all I want for them is to enjoy themselves and reply back with what strikes them.  Long as I have something to write from?  That’s all that matters.  Obviously that’s not an issue if we’ve been writing.

However.  The amount of anxiety I’ve had in the past for trimming posts because people don’t want more than two or three lines is ridiculous.  It made me almost quit tumblr more than half a dozen times.  If you have a partner who paras often?  Surrounding you with scenery, emotional content and push forward in plot?  It’s because they love what you’re doing together.  They love writing.  They love the story they want to tell.  With someone they enjoy writing with.  Someone’s writing a ton and you’re uncomfortable?  Let them know.  But be aware that posting something like that?  Is bound to make people like me (who can post a two line starter one day and a four paragraph starter the next depending on mood and UNF) feel even worse and kinda avoid initiating anything.  Which is why I usually let a lot of people write the starters nowadays. So, I can match them out of fear they won’t want to write with me anymore.

And that’s a really shitty feeling.  Which is the exact opposite of the good feeling I had when I dove into something for my partner and loved every word that came out.  It’s not filling lines for some people.  For some people, like me?  It’s enjoying our world we created and having a good time.

// I got a new puppy!!!  Eliza is handling it pretty darn good.  Wanted to name him Hamilton or Eggroll.  Cause the first thing he did while playing was bite it and go rolling across the yard.  Or, you know, Hamilton.  But…he seems to only really want to go by Eggy.  Or Egg.  Or Eggs.  

So it looks like I got a dog named Egg now.  That’s what I did with my day.  Here all weekend with new puppers making sure everything goes okay.  So expect some writing on my accounts. LOL!

// Okies!  I installed a few add-ons and did some maintanance/had a mental health day on here.  If I accidentally unfollowed a sideblog of yours?  Please let me know.  It’s kinda hard to tell sometimes.  Especially cause I haven’t worked with one of these add-ons before!

On Thread Length

Some people use a lot of text when writing to show their muse’s mental state, some use it purely because their muse is talkative. But when things like that happen, some people stress over whether or not they should match length and it can be the reason some people have problems replying to things.

You do not need to match my length. My muses get lost in their heads/like to talk/just end up making me write a lot.

Write whatever you are comfortable with, because this is supposed to be fun and you should never be pressured to meet the length of your partner. Do what you want to, and hopefully by reblogging this, the mun of this blog will do the same.
