text — b. anderson ; Did he now? Interesting story.
text — b. anderson ; And what rumor might just that be?
text — b. anderson ; You have my word.
text — b. anderson ; You always were very talkative.

( mssg » jesse | sent ) Uhm.  I guess it’s not that interesting.
( mssg » jesse | sent ) Nothing.  Nevermind.  Thank you though.  I don’t need her putting the Rachel Hammer down on me.
( mssg » jesse | sent ) Talkative?  True. I guess..
( mssg » jesse | sent ) So, did you really take your time to only say congratulations to me?  I mean, I’m grateful for it.  But this was unexpected and quite curious.  Don’t you agree?

shoulders shrug slightly as she contemplates the question. —— other than that, just bring your charming personality and a LOT

“I mean..  Do you need something to eat?  A coffee? I can pick something up for you,” Blaine grinned and nudged the strap of his satchel higher on his shoulder.  The poor thing must be stressed out if his offer swooped over her head as easily as it did.  “My patience is easy.  I can’t imagine the pressure you guys are under.  Please don’t worry about my time.  I’ve got nowhere to be and you don’t need something else on your plate to fret over, okay?  We’ll make sure whatever you need to get done gets done and that’s that.  Got it?”

          text — b. anderson ; I’m impressed.

( mssg » jesse | sent ) He’s a complete creeper with a camera and once bribed Rachel to not spread a rumor if she gave him a pair of her panties..
( mssg » jesse | sent ) The rumor was true but still.  That’s really gross.
( mssg » jesse | sent ) Which completely makes your second text not only more than a little bit cringe worthy but I did get a chuckle.  Just please don’t tell Rachel.

( mssg » jesse | sent ) Please forget I said that.
( mssg » jesse | sent ) You know Mr. Schue.  Sometimes he needs some help. But thank you.

brows sink , his features appearing thoughtful before his lips part and a sigh passes them. “ the  MAIN thing on my mind after school is : what am I going to do ? do either stay in Lima, or go to college ? I dunno, I just don’t wanna take FOREVER sitting around, especially since i have no clue where i’m headed. “ his gaze flickered from the floor to blaine, his expression soft. “ hey – we’re friends, right ? you just helped me. you wouldn’t be bothering me, blaine. i’d like to listen if you needed someone to talk to. it’s not any TROUBLE to me. “

Blaine watched Finn as he opened up, teeth worrying against his bottom lip as he listened to Finn’s concerns.  His heart went out to him.  The unknown can be terrifying.  He wished there was a way to reassure Finn he’d be fine. No.  Better than fine. Finn had an amazing future waiting past McKinley.  Even if it takes them a while to figure out what he wants that future to be.  His faith in him was beyond those doubts and he’d do his best to make Finn see that.

“I promise.  I’ll do whatever I can to help you figure it out.  But, Finn, take your time.  It’s only natural to change your mind a million times between now and whenever.  Not everyone has things as planned out as Rachel or Kurt.  They’re an exception to the rule.  Not the rule itself,” he paused and rubbed the back of his neck trying to give as much honesty as Finn gave him without troubling him.  “I guess it’s hitting me, too.  That’s all.  That come this time next year..Kurt’s going to be gone..and I’m going to be here.”

cosette.

Cosette didn’t expect any of them to come to her and ask her to come in. “Oh, I-I wouldn’t want to intrude on your fun. You guys seem like you’re having a great time, you have great voices. I-I wouldn’t want to be in the way.” The thing is that Cosette believed she was this bubble of sadness, that she’ll always be that. That she’ll bring sadness where ever she went, that she didn’t deserve to be happy because happiness didn’t exist in her world. She didn’t even recognize what they were singing, she was very cut off from the outside world, never listened to any musicals or any of that.

Blaine saw her hesitation and how unsure she was about coming in.  Her reaction sparked an immediate response to erase any fear whatsoever she had about entering the choir room. No one who wants to be there should feel like they didn’t belong.  She loved the music, right? That was reason alone she could stay and, at the very least, listen.  “Intrude?  You’re not going to do any such thing.  No one intrudes on glee club.”  He laughed quietly, correcting himself with a joke to ease her nerves.  “Well, with a few exceptions to people who love to come in here and cause trouble because they don’t have anything better to do.  Coach Sue being the first to come to mind.”

“Come on.”  His leaned towards the inside of the room trying to beckon her to follow with a playful grin.  “You can sit with me?  I promise.  If you liked what you heard in the hallway?  You’ll love the way they sound in here..”

artie.

Artie crosses his arms, eyebrow raising in questioning.

Sick of the same old same old? As in, you DON’T want to do Katy Perry or Sondheim? Never thought I’d live to see the day. Look, I’m as much of a fan of the show as the next guy. But there’s a bigger issue.

—- It’s a hip hopera, and we both know the club is severely LACKING in that department. If Mercedes, Mike, and Santana were still around, I’d be less weary, but exactly WHO in our current line-up has the flow for this kinda thing? Sure, I’d do that number, but it’s also a FOUR PERSON number. Are we going to encourage SAM to rap? Because that feels like we’re doin’ a huge injustice. Like, to the world, Blaine.

A couple of mouthed attempts at words and, finally, Blaine finds them!

FIRST!  I will remind you that I haven’t suggested or SANG anything close to Katy or Sondheim in weeks.  Hot ‘n Cold doesn’t count because my headphones were on and I didn’t think anyone was paying attention.  I suggested Hamilton to avoid reverting back to what we usually do.

image

Okay, Sam might not be a rapper but we can try to teach him.” On second thought?  “Or not.

” The mental image of Sam attempting to rap was not only oh god why did i put him through this-worthy but sickeningly adorable. Problem was?  Adorable wasn’t going to win them Nationals. But can you picture that?  Sam giving it his all trying to dance and rap and..  OKAY!  Borderline daydreaming mid-bargain was a sure sign Blaine needed more coffee.  Moving on!  "..Maybe we could try seeing if any of the new kids can do it justice?  We won’t know unless we invite them to try?”

( text ):  i’m sure u would do the same for me.
( text ): that’s what friends do.

his gaze dropped down to the screen of his phone as he read Blaine’s incoming text, fingers swiping across it as he gathered his keys to leave, typing as he did so. He hit send before exiting his house, finger on the button of the keypad to unlock his car. He was worried, but thankful Blaine trusted him enough to text him in his time of need. Regardless of what had happened between his brother and Blaine, Blaine was still Finn’s friend and he’d do his best to keep it that way.  As he got in the car, adjusted the seat so he wasn’t sitting too close to the wheel and buckled his seat belt, he glanced at his phone once more before he finally stuck the key in the ignition- waiting to be turned.

( text ): don’t worry, i’ll keep it between us.
( text ): i’m about to start driving so just stay put.
( text ): i’m glad ur alright.

after he sent the last slew of messages, he set his phone in the cup holder and turned the key; the car coming to life. he reversed quickly as he began driving toward the road, his nerves on edge. the grasp he held the wheel with tight, his knuckles white. he knew little of the bar Blaine was at, only that it was primarily for Gays, but he was sure with a little help he’d find it. As he stopped at a light, he figured it was the perfect time to pull up the address, propping his phone in the holder so he could make out the street name. His foot remained semi heavy on the gas as he drove, but not enough to warrant a speeding ticket and he made sure to use proper signals as he shifted lanes. A few miles later, he spotted the lights coming from the bar and he pulled into its parking lot, driving to the front. Distinctly he could make out Blaine’s figure and he sighed in relief as he pulled the car to the curb, parking before he got out and approached where Blaine sat waiting for him. “ hey, man. let’s get you home. ‘ he bent down ready for Blaine to drape his arm over his shoulder so he could help him walk to  the car.

( mssg » finn | sent ) i Would. all you ever have to do is call me

The fresh air felt like it was doing him some good.  Blaine breathed the crispness in and let it go with a sigh, eyes daring to open and stare towards one of the cheap florescent lights up for focus.  This whole drinking business was always great in theory.  Always a good idea when you first start and, so far, it wasn’t too terrible after he cut himself off.  Here was to hoping tomorrow morning didn’t dump him on the suffering side of regret.  His phone chimed in his hand and he craned his neck enough to gaze down at the screen.

Relief washed in when Finn promised to keep tonight between the two of them.  Asking him to keep a secret from Kurt wasn’t fair.  Or the right thing to do.  But he didn’t want to make an already messy situation even worse.  To say Kurt would be less than thrilled of his current life choices was the understatement of the millennium.  Both of them knew that.  Once he fixed things–he’d probably end up telling Kurt anyway because that’s how he was wired.  Just..after he fixed things was the key phrase.  He typed out his thank you before his head bobbed forward and he drifted off into a light sleep

Finn’s voice drew Blaine’s eyes back open. Thank God.  His neck already had a heck of a cramp and his legs weren’t much happier after spending so long in such an awkward position.  And if he was going to pass out, he’d prefer to do it in bed.  One arm wrapped around Finn’s shoulder and held on as he helped him to his feet.  “You are such a good person, Finn,” Blaine patted his chest with his free hand before he flounced down in the passenger seat then shot one of those drunken-serious stares up at Finn before he could shut the door.  “I’m so lucky for you.  You know that…don’t you?”

“I don’t think you understand the importance of True Jackson and it’s implications on the lives of tweens everywhere, Blaine! And if you don’t get, it can’t be explained. It just is. I mean she’s smart, she’s savvy, she’s badass and she teaches lessons that can be applied in the boardroom and in the classroom. What’s not important about that?” Sam eyed Blaine suspiciously, “So…are you going to help me write this letter or not? Because I know I’m not the only person that wants this show – which is totally ahead of it’s time – back on the air.”

image

Sam getting any cuter was simply. not. possible.  Blaine knew the blond was passionate about his one true love television character.  That went without saying.  If you even brought up her name (or even if you didn’t and she went through Sam’s mind..), you were going to get an earful about the injustice that the show being cancelled was.  Now?  There’s this.  Hearing Sam’s master plan to spearhead efforts to resurrect it was so so sweet that Blaine would never be able to turn him down.  Not even a little bit.  He just didn’t want him to be disappointed if it never happened.  Which, face it, it wouldn’t.  However, he’d never be the one to ruin Sam’s dream. Which, he was sure if someone ever committed such a crime?  Was punishable by seven years bad luck or something equally as mirror-breaking or walking under a ladder-like bad.

“You know–you’re right.  Here.  Have a seat and let’s get started,” he smiled and waved at the empty seat beside him, “Let’s try to get their attention.  You never know until you give it a go.”
