Right as the ring of anticipation stopped, && he heard Blaine’s voice, his awaiting lip bite turned into a half smirk. “ I think I should be asking you the same thing. Eleven PM for Blaine?? We have a real rebel on our hands. “ he joked playfully, keeping his voice as calm as possible despite deep down, even Sebastian Smythe got nervous sometimes. Not because he was looking for phone sex, but because he was looking for it with Blaine Anderson. Blaine could always make him nervous, though the Warbler was a master at hiding it.
“ I’m always a night owl. Nothing new—– “ Before finishing his thoughts, he took a pause, licking his lips before looking down at the erection he already had from prior fantasies alone. Sebastian was really in the mood tonight. “ Nighttime is the best time, don’t you agree? It’s when our thoughts really start wandering… && I’ve only been thinking about ONE thing in particular tonight. “ Yes, he is trying to hint at the fact that he’s horny.
His eyes rolled so hard that you could practically hear it on the other end of the line. Smirking towards his ceiling, Blaine laughed quietly. “Gee, thanks. It’s good to finally get how boring you think I am out in the open. What? Do you think I go to bed by eight? Eat my dinner at three in the afternoon? I’m not eighty years old, Sebastian.” Why’d he feel like he had to quickly prove to Sebastian that he wasn’t as droll as he imagined Seb must think he was? Joking tone in Seb’s voice or not? Blaine just felt like he needed to. Especially since their conversation at the Lima Bean weeks ago.
“Unfortunately I only get to be one of those on the weekends.” Not doing proving he wasn’t about as interesting as a sack of potatoes with that comment. Blaine stopped, licked his lips and jumped on the chance to change the subject. “It can be. Guess it depends on what’s keeping you up. Yeah, they usually do. That’s the problem. Where they wander to that keeps you awake. Oh? Everything okay,” his tone switched to a small undertone of concern. It became lower, softer. Curious. “What’s going on? You know I’m here if you need to talk.” Cluelessness, tonight your name is Blaine Devon Anderson.
It was late at night, Sebastian had his rather spacey house all to himself; as usual. Solitude brought him to think certain thoughts. Certain thoughts about one person in particular. Sebastian hadn’t seen Blaine online lately, && he definitely hadn’t forgotten about the offer he made a few weeks ago. With his history of never giving up on the boy, it was worth a try, wasn’t it??
Laying back in his king sized bed, Sebastian decided to ruthlessly go for it. Scrolling to the contact, he called up Blaine && waited with his ear to the phone. Eager for a voice on the other line.
Blaine glanced over at the clock sitting on his desk and noticed the hour. Was it really that late and he wasn’t near close to tired? Apparently so. Great thing about Fridays? At least there was no alarm to wake him up before the sun was up and make him regret not forcing himself to go to sleep.
Lazily flipping another page of the worn copy of Wuthering Heights he borrowed from his mother for required reading, he jumped when his phone unexpectedly rang from where he tossed it on his bed. Reading the name on the screen brought a smile to the corner of his mouth. Wuthering Heights could wait. "Hello, Sebastian,” Blaine pounced down and wiggled around to relax back against a pile of pillows. “Pleasant surprise to hear from you at this hour. What are you doing up so late?”
“Having you been keeping up with everybody?” Brittany asks one day, apropos of nothing. At the very beginning of the school year, she’d kept up. Now, though, it’s been hard to stay in touch. “Mike Chang is the only one I talk to.” Aside from Santana, but that’s a given. “Everybody else just tweets a lot and all of the emojis are hard to understand. Not even Kiki gets it.”
“I’m sure they’re all busy transitioning into life outside of McKinley. I mean even Kurt’s been a bit busy getting settled in New York. Rachel too. I can understand why things’ve gotten quiet.” Blaine leaned over and hooked his arm around her shoulders offering a small smile. Truth time? He expected quiet from a lot of people. Except one. Quiet from Kurt was starting to eat at him. There was too much of it. Why bother Britt with how much it was starting to bother him though? Things would be fine. Like he said. Everyone was adjusting. Silence was to be expected. Yeah? Time to change the subject. “Have you tried Googling the emojis? Or you could invent an emoji translator. I’m surprised someone hasn’t done that yet.”
“to what do i owe the pleasure, blaine?? it’s been too long since you’ve said hello.”
“Do I need a reason to check in with you? I agree. It has been too long. My fault. Life’s been hectic. Class, clubs, getting ready for Sectionals. That’s why I thought it was time for a visit. It’s really good to see you. How’ve you been, Sebastian? How’s Dalton? Keeping out of trouble?”
“If there’s anyone who can pull off that statement? We all know it’s you, Rachel. Until that happens? We should settle on this song list we’re pitching to Mr. Schue for Sectionals. Unless you plan on giving up and going with another 80′s rock medley? Not that there aren’t some wonderful songs I’m sure he’ll skip over. I really liked the idea you had for the chance to change things up. Stardom awaits past yet another trophy. Baby steps to Broadway as I like to call it. What do you think?”
This day was going awful. If one more person asked her to say “funny English words” she would punch herself in the tit. But then again, what did she expect? A super chill first day? Like that was ever possible in the life of Rae Earl.
She adjusted her blue denim backpack over her shoulder, just wanting the day to be over. And that’s when she ran into Blaine. “Oh shi’.” She quickly helped him pick the items up, sighing. “No no, it’s fine. My day has also been quite terrible, I understand.” She looked at the paper she was holding in her hand, realizing it was sheet music.
“Sheet music? Is there some sort of music class I don’ know about?” Of course, Rae had taken music as a filler class. Frankly, she almost had all the necessary credits needed to graduate. But still, she had to go through all the motions of American high school.
“I’m so sorry…I really should make i’ up to ya.” She frowned, handing him his papers and sighing, rubbing her temples. Perfect, Rae. As if you didn’ already ‘ave trouble stayin’ hidden, now you’ve gone and made a huge mess. Oh God, did I hi’ ‘im in his…oh god….I did. “Do you need ice or somethin’….?” She never was good at these situation. “I am so so sorry.” Her cheeks were turning red, especially as she realized people were staring.
Blaine smiled gratefully as she helped him gather up the papers thanks to the impact. Standing up felt worse but he was doing his Grade A best not to make her feel horrible by showing it. Totally an accident. Nothing to make her feel sorrier for. Damn it hurt though.
He adjusted the strap of his satchel covering up trying to shake off the pain by stretching out a ‘kink in his back’ and looked at the sheet music she was so fascinated by. Blaine’s eyebrows perked up at her interest. “Class? Sort of? It’s for the Glee Club. You’ve never heard of it?” You’re not at Dalton anymore, Blaine. Remember? They barely notice Glee Club exists here.
“You don’t..oh! You must be new here.” Like it wasn’t obvious by her accent and lack of knowledge about Glee Club and not for any other reason. Say, like, some of the student body treating them like lepers or their personal punching bags to make them feel better about themselves. Don’t judge. They were behind on members. Why point out the negative when he could leave it up to her to decide? Plus, he took a shot to the groin less than five minutes ago. Hard to hold anything against a guy trying to not stand there in tears until the pain stopped for a stranger’s, and his dignity’s, sake.
“No. No. You don’t have anything to make up for. It was an accident,” he tried to reassure her by changing the subject back to music. “Stop saying your sorry. We’re both having one of those days. But if you really want to make it up to me? How about you walk me to the choir room and let me show you what the sheet music’s for. If you love music? You’ll love this.”
A light hearted, playful laughter is let out as hes twirled by Blaine. Bodies pushed close up together, chest against chest. This could not be any more like a dream. Nothing bad was happening in his life; Things were good. Blaine && Kurt’s relationship was standing strong. Sometimes Kurt never felt like a teenager with all of the things he put as his highest priorities. The boy was always looking ahead, but when Blaine shows him how to let go a little like he is right now, nothing can wipe the smile off his face or the warmth in his heart. Kurt moves his hips to the music, letting the vibes seep into him. An arm raises && wraps around the back of Blaine’s neck, pecking his cheek lightly.
“You better not. I’d be heartbroken,” he joked.
Kurt’s laughter was contagious. Blaine couldn’t resist laughing along at the tail end of the spin that ended up with them pressed together. Blaine’s arm held Kurt close, his cheek nuzzled against Kurt’s as he breathed the moment, and Kurt, in. If Blaine made a wish, they’d stay stuck right here with Kurt letting go and laughing so carefree and the both of them just being alive and together. Nothing else mattered. The rest of Blaine’s world faded away. He waved it goodbye. See you later! Why? He had all he needed: Kurt getting lost and letting go. Beautiful. Happy. His. Their bodies moving to the beat of Katy Perry and a kiss to his cheek that made him grin so wide the corners of his eyes pinched together and all the time in the world to just be. Blaine kissed his chin to get his attention.
“Hey, Kurt. I love you. Now, how bout those socks?”
A light laughter slips out out from his boyfriends claim. Slender fingers slid from Blaine’s back, && Kurt began to dance around a bit to mirror his boyfriend as a ear to ear smile stayed glued to his face. Blaine always had skill in dancing, even when he was a bit of a sloppy drunk. Tonight felt so alive, all thanks to the energy from Blaine. He needed this, he needed to have fun. The dimmed room with only a little bit of blue part light illuminating the others face && he was lost in the moment. All of the sudden he heard the familiar voice of the one && only Katy Perry come from the speakers. Kurt gasps in joy, pointing upwards.
“ Oh! Listen! Katy’s on! “
“That sounds like a challenge, Kurt.”
Blaine began dancing to the beat of whatever song that began to play while he taunted his boyfriend into joining him further out on the dance floor. Eyes sparkling with a light reserved specifically for the beautiful boy dancing at his side. Kurt relaxing and enjoying himself only spurred Blaine into having an even better time than already was. One arm hooked around Kurt’s waist as the boy shut his eyes and became lost in the music. Perfect. Tonight was perfect. As the song died out? Blaine got a great idea. Or so he thought. By some act of God, managed not to topple them both over as one of his would be spins ended up being a Kurt-esque shimmy instead. Oh! Katy! He twirled Kurt after he pointed out the start of his song then pulled him close. Blaine’s smile ran from ear to ear.
“Ooh! Finally! Come here you. I’m so not letting you disappear while Katy’s on!”
“I didn’t expect to see you here at Breadstix, Blaine Warbler. I didn’t think they had bird food here, but it’s nice to know that they don’t discriminate with species. That’s super cool of them.”
“Hi, Britt. We’ve had this conversation before. I was part of The Warblers. Not an actual– Um. Nevermind. How are you tonight? Dinner alone? Would you like company?”
Not another moment passed before Kurt’s lips were hard against Blaine’s, wrapping his arms around his boyfriends back && prolonging the kiss passionately before pulling away with a wide smile. Tonight feltgood, he felt like he could do anything&& not look back on it with regret. Now the challenge was going to be attempting to speak over the blaring music, && keeping Blaine out of trouble of course.
“ —-Seems as if you have to dance with me now. “
Blaine was waiting for a kiss but he wasn’t prepared for the impact of the one he got. In his slightly inebriated state catching up to it took a beat or two of rushingly returned pecks that deepened once he steadied himself thanks to Kurt’s arms around his back. Dazed from the sudden loss of Kurt’s mouth on his Blaine swept his fingers spread across his boyfriend’s cheeks and blinked himself back to Earth from swaying in place
stupefied and slack jawed. Did he just win or lose that ultimatum?
“Seems as if I do. Doesn’t it? Hope you brought an extra pair of bobby socks. Cause I’m gonna dance yours right off your feet.”
