“Why instead of a rigorous exfoliation regiment you don’t just have me over as your new beauty ritual? After all, you are what you eat, killer.”

“Sebastian!”  There came that heat spreading over his nose and cheeks that the boy never ceased to be able to cause within minutes of opening his mouth.  Today?  His Warbler friend was in rare form.  Considering it took all of two seconds to put it there.  Might even be a new record!

Blaine stuttered, fully unprepared to play the game of keeping up so soon into them seeing one another face to face.  He should know BETTER.  “You..  You were, seriously, born without a filter.  Weren’t you?  Does that word even exist in your vocabulary?”

( mssg » cooper | sent ) The fact that you took that much time to finding a gif to send me in hopes of making fun of me makes you an even bigger NERD than the one you’re trying to make me out as!  Just so you know.

( mssg » cooper | sent ) Yeah yeah.  Whatever you say.  She still isn’t going to be too thrilled about having to bail you..or Frank..out of jail for a Hit And Run. Get back there.  Now!
( mssg » cooper | sent ) Wait.  You’re sitting in your car?  You freaked me out this bad and never left in the first place?  Cooper.  You’re a such a jerk sometimes.
( mssg » cooper | sent ) Hang on.  Assistant?  When did you get an assistant??
( mssg » cooper | sent ) That’s a laundry list of a drink name.  Do you really order that in the drive thru?  I feel bad for the guy at the window..
( mssg » cooper | sent ) Ah!  I’m sure your improv makes up for the ten cars behind you.  Very clever Cooper.

FUNNY. Rachel had always imagined herself running to KURT first when she took that last intimate step with Finn. That she’d want to gush to her best friend about how magical it had all been, bouncing excitedly on her toes while Kurt asked an obscene amount of questions. Not about THAT, Kurt would probably rather burn all his Prada than hear that kind of detail about Rachel and his step-brother. But about the night – who had made the first move, what had been said. If there had been candles, roses, soft music floating in the background. What was the thread count of the sheets she’d lost it in, and wondering if there a piece of furniture in his house he never wanted to sit in again. Wanting to know what had been the phrase, action, or feeling that had FINALLY gotten Rachel over whatever had been holding her back for the last eight months.

But it wasn’t Kurt she found herself searching the McKinley hallways for. It was Blaine.

There was no one at McKinley who would better understand her in this moment than her Tony. No one else who had ever understood her openness when it came to sexuality and yet hesitation at following it through to the final act. But Blaine had been there for her when even ARTIE was ragging on her for wanting to hang onto that milestone just a little longer. He’d shared her view; he’d been on her team when she’d needed him. It was only fitting she wanted to tell him first.

“There you are. I’ve been looking for you EVERYWHERE.” Rachel exhaled with relief, already planting one of her tiny hands on the sleeve of Blaine’s sweater. “I have to tell you something. About why I never showed up to the party.”

Blaine couldn’t wipe the everpresent happy, to the point of goofy if he wasn’t paying attention, permanent smile off his face.  It’d been there the whole weekend. Only tapering off when he was busy and his mind went elsewhere then returning when a flashback that sent shivers down his spine and caused his toes to curl right back up at random, sometimes very inopportune, times. His friends were going to figure it out if he wasn’t careful.  Not that he and Kurt were hiding what they did because of any sort of regret or care what the others might think.  It was only..  Kurt and he wanted to keep what they shared for the two of them for as long as possible.

What happened was the most special night of their lives.  You couldn’t blame them to not want to spend every second answering a million and one questions about what went on.  Especially when a few of their friends lacked any sort of filter when it came to asking questions about what ‘gay stuff’ was like. Or how it worked.  Or who was what role or..  You get the point.

It didn’t mean that Blaine wasn’t aching to tell someone.  To explode into glittery rose petals and gush about sharing that part of himself with the person he loved the most.  He was.  Maybe just to one person.  The one that stuck by him throughout the days leading up to it.  She shared his fears and his hesitations and made a handful of blundering mistakes that were borderline awful like he did.  His Maria.  And then, suddenly.  There she was.  Pulling his attention from the book he had in one hand and the coffee he was casually sipping in his chair inside the library with the other.  Blinking, Blaine looked up.  His olive cheeks went pink and..holy cow..did Rachel??

“Rachel!  Y-Yeah.  Okay.  Tell me,” his hand covered hers and he curled up in the chair to face her, eyes bright and curious and hopeful.  “Is it what I’m thinking?  Did you..?  Seriously?”

“I remember how much you loved to dance.”

Words fell silent.  Blaine didn’t know what he could say back to remotely explain how he felt right here, in Kurt’s arms at last.  The days leading up to this very moment were a blur.  From picking up Kurt at the airport to the events that escalated into them pretty much committing sacrilege in the middle of the day inside a Prius parked in a church parking lot.  It felt like just this once..for the first time in months..the home he’d been standing outside begging to return to had opened up it’s doors and let him in.

I love you was on the tip of his tongue.  Thank you for giving me a reason to came in the caress up Kurt’s back trailed with trembling fingers that dropped to his waist so he could lean in.  Spice and sweet.  The scent of shampoo and the skin he’d never forget the flavor of right underneath his nose greeted him with a heart lightening hope that maybe this time he could stay.  Rachel and Finn couldn’t have picked a better song.  The tip of his nose ran along the long, pale slope of Kurt’s throat until he’d tucked himself in against it.

Tonight.  All he needed was tonight to prove to Kurt they could make it.  That he could trust him with one more chance.

“Please,” he breathed and let the way his lips grazed the skin above Kurt’s collar say the rest.

This was probably the first time Rachel wasn´t really paying any attention to the movie they were watching, but she was more focused on Blaine and the warmth she felt as he held her. For the first time she also didn´t feel like crying when someone was holding her. Maybe it was because he wasn´t telling her that things would be alright eventually, but because he was simply HOLDING her, without expecting anything of her. He was just making conversation and she could feel herself relaxing slowly in his arms.

Kurt really was a lucky guy, but then again she had known that from the moment she had met Blaine. He had always been fantastic and sometimes even Rachel forgot that he was probably suffering as much as them. With his fingertips against her cheeks she blinked up at him, lips curving into a smile. “I´m not leaving you hanging, no way.” She then smiled. “I could never do that.”

“And it always depends. Some people need coffee before doing yoga and some need it afterwards. Some do both,” She chuckled, leaning into his touch. “I usually get coffee afterwards. And subways are something you get used to. Just stick to my side and you´ll be fine.” Rachel then added, letting out a content sigh. “And I´d never want to get rid of you, why would I even try? You´re the best thing that happened to me,” She then mumbled, suppressing a yawn.

The corners of Blaine’s eyes crinkled with the genuine smile hearing Rachel say he was the best thing that happened to her brought.  Honestly, having Rachel in his life was pretty high up on his list of bests too.  Regardless of how quirky she could be at times.  Others, downright crazy demanding..  She was one of the people dearest and nearest to his heart.  No amount of temper tantrums or time or distance could dampen that.  As far as Blaine was concerned?  She was stuck with him for the rest of her life.  Cause he couldn’t imagine the rest of his without her in it.

After recovering from a yawn that watching her do the same instinctively drew out of him, Blaine nuzzled down against her forehead and let his eyes fall shut.

“Just don’t ever give up being you.  No matter what.  You are perfect, Rachel Berry.  Never forget that,” he whispered, “No get some rest.  I’ll stay here for a little while longer.  I’ll make sure you’re okay.  Promise.”  Wrapping her up in his arms and tangling their legs together sealed the deal.

Unseen above her head where his chin rested lightly so they could fit together just right, Blaine rolled his eyes towards the ceiling and repeated the same mantra in his head that he had from the night he got the phone that he needed to get to the Hudson-Hummel household as fast as possible.

Burt’s voice was broken, he wouldn’t answer any of Blaine’s questions.  The panic that swelled up inside his chest as he frantically ran out of the house in his pajamas and a jacket pushed the pedal to the bottom of his floorboards the longer he talked to him on the phone in his car.  Only to walk in on the most devastating sobs from a grown man and woman he’d ever heard.  That night was the first he begged for forgiveness of all the hurt he forced Finn to help Kurt through.  For the disappointment that he saw in Finn’s eyes twice by his choices.  He swore that he’d be right here.  Where he was…and make everything as okay as he could.  He was sorry.  “I love you, Rachel..  Kurt loves you, too.”  Hopefully his fiance’ would stay asleep a bit longer.

( sms : blaine ) I guess I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to some coffee.
( sms : blaine ) And possibly some cheesecake.
( sms : blaine ) I think me and Rachel are gonna split a cab.

( mssg » kurt | sent ) Coffee would be great.  Dinner after, maybe?  My treat?  The cheesecake at Breadstix is still amazing.
( mssg » kurt | sent ) Or..  If you let me pick you up instead of taking a cab?  We could go to Eddie Merlot’s for dinner and get some cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory in Columbus.  Not that I’m bribing you to say yes.
( mssg » kurt | sent ) Okay.  Maybe just a little..

“You totally are my best friend too, Blainey. Like the bestest of best friends EVER. My bestest BFFSam’s words might be slurred due to the amount of alcohol but he meant every word of what he said. He grinned slightly as he leaned into Blaine’s personal space to nudge him with a shoulder. “Like I’d let everybody do bodyshots with me.. only you and that’s saying something.”

image

Blaine should have cut himself off half a drink ago.  Or more.  But when everyone around you is downing whatever this was that looked like blueberries but smelled like turpentine and you’re too caught up in the moment to hit the breaks.  Confessing his adoration for Sam’s friendship had him hanging on whatever the blond would say back.  Maybe a little too hopeful and hell bent on liquid courage..here is where he finds himself.  Arm slung over Sam’s shoulders and blinking at his best friend’s reaction.  Body shots?  Lips puckered, cheeks dusted pink, his heart raced to catch up to a few skipped beats.  “Y-Yeah,” he stuttered, “Body shots.  Me too..  Definitely.”  You know? Platonic body shots.  Those are a thing.  Right?  Totally a thing.

❝It’s not that big of a deal to actually enjoy classes, is it? I just mean I’m not the only one.Kate spoke softly, shifting her notebook from one hand to the other, though trying not to look too fidgety.

“I don’t understand the whole it’s cool to hate everything about school and if you don’t, you’re just a nerd with no life thought process either.  So what if I really like history AND math.  Do we really have to listen to someone groan and roll their eyes every time we raise our hand to talk about things with the teacher?” Blaine shrugged and adjusted the strap of his satchel higher up on his shoulder.  “We’re here for eight hours a day.  We might as well try to enjoy some if it.  Right?”
