đ for a random encounter starter @feelmyabs

Blaine knew he began to distance himself from practically anyone near the end of him bottoming out andâin the endâleaving New York City.  He became that friend who stopped answering texts or calls.  A slight trickle of replies that dwindled to nothing the moment the plane touched down in Ohio.  After he settled in back at âhomeâ?  Being around the same circle of friends that he shared with Kurt?  The idea?  It was horrible to feel that way about them but it just felt like he kept opening up a wound that he had no idea how to heal.  Too many memories mixed in with honest concern and repeats of questions he didnât have the answers for.
Todayâhe decided enough was enoughâbut didnât actively go seeking anyone out.  He put himself together, made the drive back to Lima and for some reason decided the Lima Bean would be a great place to stop.  A random encounter?  He could deal with that.  Not with picking up the phone and actually inviting someone out so he could gush apologies they would all say they didnât need because they understood anyway.  A dully warm coffee sat on the table. Blaine watched unfamiliar faces come and go until he spotted one he knew walking in.  Sam.  Chasing down the bitter taste of guilt with a drink of okay coffee, he waited until Sam made his order and was just about to walk past him before looking up and lifting his hand in a wave to get his attention.  âSam?  Hi.  Hey.  Uhmâ,â he forced one of those awkward smiles that he was so good at lately, âLong time, no see.âÂ
