dustin gave an inward groan as a voice rang out beside him, the words directed in his direction. his gaze shifted over to the younger man, studying him for a long moment. he seemed familiar looking, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it at first. eyes narrowed as the man’s face nagged at the back of his mind, the mention of vocal adrenaline snapping the raven haired man back to attention.

“oh, you’re that kid from the all boys’ school. the one who hung around that tiny guy with the girly voice.” he took a swig of his drink before shrugging. “about a year or so. give or take. this is my second go around in this place. have you faced the nasty rejection streak yet?”

Blaine couldn’t help the cheeky, ear to ear grin at kid from the all boys school.  Shaking his head, brows jerking up, he thumbed at the lip of his glass watching as his nail covered the tiny edge cut around the mouth.  “It’s been a while since Dalton but, yes, I was that kid.”  He huffed a sort of chortle at the memories mentioning his old school to someone who remembered it brought to mind.  Laughter ringing through the halls, the way the sun would shine through stained glass and reflect in dozens of colors on polished marble floors.  Music and stolen kisses.  Dalton.  God, he loved that school.  Still did.  Always would.  His first real home.

Nostalgia creeping in was inevitable.  He had half a mind to pluck up his glass, finish it off and leave before he gave it a chance by striking up conversation.  Yet, here he was.  Doing the opposite and letting the ghost of that tiny guy with a girl voice warm his chest as he swallowed another sip.  Before putting him to rest with another smile and a point to Dustin’s glass.  “Just graduated this past year.  Still finding my niche, I guess.  First yes came last week.  How’s the second time coming for you?  Better?  I don’t think I ever got to see you perform.  Wouldn’t mind changing that.  Also?  Next round’s on me.”

elliott.

Preemptive smooches Elliott was ALL to happy to return, taking his time with a distinct casualness of someone who had nowhere to be. No stresses, for the moment at least, just a gleeful content and a man he loved tight in his arms.

How anyone could think their love was wrong, when it made him feel like THIS, Elliott had no idea.

“Good to me.” Hopefully good all around, if Elliott got his way.

His Mom was an absolute DOLL, so he felt fairly confident that, yes, Good was indeed going to be the word for all of this.

“See, what I wanted to ask, and I’m hoping you’ll say YES,” He’s bridging the question carefully, trying not to force a yes, without at all implying he wanted anything but, swaying them from side to side as is creating CALMNESS in the rocking sensation.

“My Mom – she wants to have a proper family dinner. Just the three of us, all fancy and proper, so she can meet you. I was gonna drive down Tuesday night, if you wanna?”

He pulls back, waiting with baited breath for a yes or a no, hoping deeply not just that Blaine will come, but that it will all go smoothly.

Blaine felt safe.  Content to linger right where he was, humming between kisses and sharing a moment of complete downtime with the perfect person to enjoy it against.  Watching Elliott turn careful right after that sort of warm-up?  How could he not be curiouser and curiouser?  Enough that he lifted his head from Elliott’s chest and tossed him a burrowed brow nudge to continue.

Okay, that was the sweetest dinner with Mom proposal ever and the laugh that left him was light as air.  Both arms shifted, up over Elliott’s shoulders where he held onto his wrists for steadiness before lifting up and pressing a kiss to the corner of Elliott’s lips.

“I’d love to meet her.  She sounds so sweet on the phone and I think it’s more than adorable the way you light up when you talk about her.”

Though a little bit of unsurety creeps in and he bites into his bottom lip pondering if he should say what’s on his mind.  Then knows Elliott wouldn’t want it any other way.  “You’re sure she’s going to like me, right?”

He paused, looking for the right words.  “It’s been a while since the whole first meeting of a parent thing,” and just for a moment his voice goes quiet before picking back up, “I want to make sure I don’t mess it up.”

multimemoirs:

there are friends, and then there are the kind of friends that still support you and write with you after you’ve dragged one thread with them to four separate blogs. i love you j! @pianokeysandbowties

// The feeling is 10000% mutual.  You know the writing is freaking tops when you’re like…you can drag the thread to pluto and back and I’d still reply ten light years from now.  And I love you, too!

torrance.

TORRANCE’S STOMACH TWISTS nervously for just a moment, but it fades quickly, very comfortable in blaine’s company and under his wing, despite wondering what he was up to.     ❝  oh GOD, it’s… there’s this one song i’ve been listening to for like… weeks. it’s this… no doubt song that i remember hearing all the time, it’s called SPIDERWEBS. it’s just… i dunno, the perfect song to jump around to. i listened to it a million times when i broke up with my boyfriend back home. it was the first time i felt an emotional connection to a song about screening someone’s phone calls.  ❞

The thing about favorite songs?  Everyone has their own reasons about why they pick the ones they hold near and dear.  And if it is because you’re trying to skirt around an ex-boyfriend’s phone calls?  Who was he to judge?  Didn’t stop his eyes from brightening up and that half-chuckle from escaping before he bit his lip to mute the rest of it.  “Okay.  That’s probably the most adorable thing I’m going to hear all day, but Spiderwebs it is then.  Want to play it over the speakers in the auditorium and give the stage a go?”  He shouldered open the side door to the auditorium and stepped in holding it open with his back so he could wave for her to walk into the dimly lit backstage area.  “Or at least see what the seats look like from the best view in the house?”  Either way?  He was getting her on the stage.

torrance.

TORRANCE HAD NEVER been to see any shows before. sure, she’d gone to see the club itself in performances, but she’s never seen a legitimate production before. back in CALIFORNIA, she’d seen a few local performances with her parents or on school trips, but a touring production ?     that was a new, and exciting idea to her.     ❝  that… sounds super cool…!     i’ve never seen a show before, that would be INCREDIBLE !  ❞

Blaine blinked, jumping at the idea instantly as something to cling to that’d help push her over the edge of the jumping into all things performing arts pool.  Seeing that she was on board with the whole idea?  Only made him all the more excited.  Maybe it was the freshness of it all.  Someone without so much bias as the rest of the glee club had towards what they thought was amazing verses what they thought was eye roll worthy or boring was door open wide for the opportunity of enjoying things without all the buzz kill.  Oh.  He was going to have fun with this.

“Great!  I’ll get the seats and we’ll make the plans!  Until then?  Practice.  I guess the best place to start would be,” he shrugged giving a nod towards the hall as a gesture for her to follow, “what’s your favorite music?  Song?  Performer?  No judgement.  I promise.”
